about PORCELAIN

This song features individual recordings of the sound of porcelain bowls.
Ceramic artist Anne Butler made a series of porcelain bowls. I discovered by chance they made a beautiful ringing tone when I struck one with my finger.
At her workshop studio I recorded the sounds from 26 different bowls that she had created.
I wrote a song using the recordings of the bowls, titled ‘PORCELAIN’.
The lyric of PORCELAIN was written while lying in my hospital bed after going through an extensive nine-hour operation to remove an aggressive cancer from inside me.
PORCELAIN was written, produced, recorded and played by Ian Livingstone. All vocal parts were sung by Ethan McLean..
